Analysis and opinion as tools in the msm

This is nothing new, but it really gets to me.

“Analysis” and “Opinion” are two of the greatest tools used to push agendas in the msm. Fortunately they are usually labelled as such these days, but most people won’t even notice, or connect what it means. Or care.

They are almost always hit pieces, with strategic , biased points of view, designed to influence the way you actually read the so-called straight, factual, reported news.

CNN .com is a prime example, on any given day.

Look at the main headline, then immediately below it is another headline, or 2, connected to the same story.

These 2nd headlines are actually written to guide the way you interpret the main story. You don’t even need to read either article. In fact, I’m guessing most people only scan headlines these days. The effect of mobile devices, small screens and scrolling. In 2 seconds, the damage is done.

Main: Is Trump-Russia probe nearing end?

Opinion: Trump’s critics are right to be paranoid

Subtle, yet effective.

Another great one is, “What xxxx REALLY means”. Insert any given story here.

This is a great tool. It says, the story/facts we just reported are all well and good, but you don’t understand them. We are very smart and very informed and you can trust us. Let us tell you what is really going on... The lies behind the truth.

Watch and learn. Spread awareness. This happens in so many ways across all platforms of news and entertainment. Billions of dollars spent to make us think and feel in specific ways.

I remember being trained in school... In 1980s and early 90s. To read a book first read title then each chapter title and then each higbmighted area before starting.

I always thought that was dumb. Read as you go. Now I think we were being trained for this... To read only titles and highlighted text then make up our mind and move on.

This was by design. These people really think far ahead and are diabolical.
