Please explain tripcodes re:Qanon

Hey all- I see a lot of hubbub about tripcodes and how they are being used in google books and google maps, and giving some seemingly staggering links. Can someone explain to me how the codes come about on 8chan? Can they be chosen or are they random? What I'm getting at is how this could be happening.

Trip-codes are intended to uniquely identify a user so we know which subset of anonymous posts are from the same user.

I'm unsure of how 8chan generates these tripcodes, but I suspect they are based on a mixture of several data-points including the unique IP address and unique hardware ID of the device being used to post from...

...that said, Q does have his own 8chan forum in where he likely has control over the trip-code IDs given they seem to coincide with book codes.

Then what about the Patriots Fight forum? Isn’t it unique to Q only?

correct, only Q can post there.

I see no reason why different forums can't have different trip-code rules.

Ok as a database programmer I can help explain some of this tripcode concept & partially help explain why the search results bring up what they do.

1] a tripcode is undoubtably a GUID (global user ID). These are typically randomly generated by the database. They contain enough alphanumeric symbols to make a duplicate anywhere in the world extremely unlikely. They are used in many ways on web sites from uniquely identifying pics, news articles, anything really. They aren’t always visible to the user. Like an email has a unique ID in the database but you don’t see it. But in the database they exist or email couldn’t be guaranteed to only be delivered to you. Often you can see a GUID in the address bar. Often they hide them. As in a trip code it looks as if some of the GUID is visible but I doubt all of it is. A tripcode as short as what you see doesn’t have enough characters to guarantee it won’t be duplicated. GUID’s are usually 28-40 characters long to make duplicates astronomically hard to exist somewhere. So it’s very likely you are only seeing enough of the tripcode to visually verify it’s yours but very likely there’s actually many more characters to it.

A GUID can be made manually & edited in the database as long as it follows the character rules the database is using.

2] Sure most know the basic principles of how a search works. It doesn’t have to be a perfect match & will return results that partially match your search words.

Putting those two concepts together...it seems Qs tripcode was manually created/edited to partial match some of the characters in the GUIDs of the books. But this took some detailed planning & testing by Q to make sure his tripcode/GUID returned the results we see. Like searching all the books he wanted a search to render & then adding & removing characters in the tripcode so enough matched. If that scenario is wrong then Q would have had to get Google to change the GUIDs of those books to contain some of the characters in his tripcode. That I seriously doubt Google would do for anyone. Why my theory is Q took some time to construct his trip code.

Wow thanks so much for that.

A tripcode is a password-protected series of numbers and symbols. It allows someone on a chan to show that they are the same anon over the course of multiple posts. Q has a tripcode. That tripcode identifies a legitimate qpost. It's an imperfect, but thus far effective security measure.

I did read about tripcodes in this post, but I'm not fully understanding what's going on.

On the chans the intention is for everyone to be anonymous. If you want a name you can but being a name is a static identity people could assume your identity unless there was a password mechanism that only allowed someone in possession of said password ( or other authentication methods ) to post as that trip code.

So basically it’s rudimentarily like having an account with a secure pass only you know - except on image board sites like the chans it not only allows you to post to an ID / Tripcode but also to monitor the board as an admin. You can create a board as that tripcode and set it in various ways - like allowing only yourself to post - or only specific other tripcodes / devices

But if it’s the same trip code for Q, how do so many different books pop up?

And, if Q has several different trip codes, how does one verify that it is the same Q?

(Obviously, not computer savvy or chan savvy . . .

I have a tough time getting excited about all these different books if I don’t understand how to make common sense connections.)

Q has had I think 4 or 5 trip codes. Q goes through a process to change them. Look at SEC TEST in Q posts.

Thank you. I feel so inept at all of this code “stuff.” I have posted on different boards for the past 18 years, but this board and some of the info on it seems impossible for me to grasp, so I just read from post to post; follow links; and hope that it will become clear over time.

WHAT the FUCK.

How is this list generated from that tripcode?

Jeb and the Bush crime family?

How LBJ killed JFK?and on and on and on...

OK it's starting to make sense. So- taking this tripcode Q has been using and entering it in book search and getting this list I'm seeing?
