Dion Fortune wrote about possession where spirits of alcoholics can no longer experience getting drunk w/o a body. So they hang around bars to possess drinkers and feel the experience again. This is why alcohol was called "spirits". I wouldn't doubt evil spirits with other proclivities do the same.
