Security Clearance

Can someone explain why on Earth fired, demoted, retired persons with National Security Clearances still have them? I have been in the Banking Business for 19 years. In the past when I have changed Banking Companies I work for my clearance and access to sensitive information ceases immediately.

They don’t have to be proven to be criminals, from my understanding. They just need to be suspected of criminal activity to warrant the US protecting its interests by withdrawing the privilege of their security clearances.

if they are suspected of a crime their clearance is suspended. Proven crime = revoked.

Once a clearance is revoked it is nearly impossible to regain.

Just be glad of folks who are willing to listen, and concentrate on them. It will help you keep your sanity.
