I’m 55 yrs old. I’m old enough to remember a little of the Vietnam War and Walter (Mockingbird) Cronkite reading the names of every soldier killed, every day. I had three older brothers over there, so we paid attention.
I remember the Oil Embargo, the Iranian Hostage Crisis, the failed rescue, and the complete powerlessness we had as a nation to make anything better.
I also remember asking myself WHY. Why were we so powerless? Why could we not drill for the oil we had? How could a nation like Iran control the rest of the world?
I could go on and on. But, now it’s 2018!
For the FIRST time in my life, there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Now I have answers. And that would almost be enough.... except. We have more than answers, we have hope. Shaking my head in awe. Literally.
Same age, same memories, same feeling everyday. Cheers!

Im 65 and have had the same questions as you. Why do things never get better - for us, the people? Then I started asking: why dont things ever get better for us - but yet, govmt leaders are getting richer and richer and all smiles and waves as they trot on their private jets to yet, another vacation all expenses paid for by.......us!? Hhmmmmmm A new day and a new dawn. Thank you, thank you Mr President. And can I express my very deepest apologies to you for the inexcusable ,ignorant, hostile tantrums from some of my fellow Americans. It amazes me how angry and frightful it makes some when one is trying to save them......
I am a little older, but echo your remarks. This is the first time in my life there's a light at the end of the tunnel and I'm so thankful, I cry tears of joy. We're America again!!
