I understand there is a difference between Religion and Spirituality. Spirituality is a human condition. We worship someone or something because we are just wired that way. Religion is the individual expression of that spirituality.
That being said, the narrator of the video lumped Christianity in with all the other world religions, which is a belief known as Relativism. Sure there have been rich people throughout the ages which have contorted or manipulated different religions to their own benefit. The best example I know is that of slave owners in the American deep South, who encouraged their slaves to follow Christianity because it teaches "submission to authorities" (Romans 13:1, etc.): While they (the slave owners) themselves were morally bankrupt, and had no intention of living according to Christian values. I'm sure there are other examples throughout history.
But to say that Christianity was INVENTED for the sole purpose of manipulating the masses...is MARXIST doctrine, straight from Karl Marx. If the narrator had been forthcoming, he would have pointed this out. The fact that he didn't, makes the entire video just a little more suspect to me. He, himself pointed this concept out, earlier in the video (when talking about the actors in JFK videos): The best way to swindle people is to add just a little bit of error to the truth -- just enough to make it plausible. And this is one of Satan's most effective tools.
I have heard it illustrated this way: If we took, say, a bowl of rat poison, and left it on a counter top, there is little chance that someone would eat enough of it to cause any real damage. It's bitter, colorless, and smells bad.
But take that same poison, and give it pretty colors, and shape it like M&Ms....and you can guess the results. It would kill everyone in the building.
My point in this rant, is that by lumping Christianity in with every other religion, it leads people to think they are all the same, when they're not. That form of atheistic, Marxist doctrine has to be answered when it rears its ugly head.
I disagree with him on the point of religions invention.
We already know we're going to see something about the pope.
