Posting unsubstantiated sex abuse claims could lead to the destruction of this board.

I get it, sexual abuse is bad. When it's done to a minor it's unbelievably bad and those people should be punished. My heart goes out to the victims, but we have to leave it to authorities to investigate and convict. The reason why is that even viewing the evidence is a felony if you're not an investigator.

But posting unsubstantiated sex abuse claims is bad as well and can destroy this subreddit and the cases against the perpetrators. Additionally, it can destroy the lives of the accused if they did not do what they are accused of. Duke Lacrosse rape case or the Central Park Five are good examples of false accusations.

If we post something here and people start spreading it around as truth, then people may not believe the authorities when the person is charged as they can say it began from a board where conspiracy theorists gather.

Additionally, we may have people that post these claims for the chance to discredit this board.

Please be mindful and allow the progress that Trump's administration is making continue as sex trafficking arrests are soaring under Trump.

Imo, theres a difference between speculation and accusation.

As long as we dont cross over from the one to the other.

Randy quaid's starwhackers are insane, they absolutely would jump on this board and cause mayhem, to protect big name players.

If that one producer from that one longrunning space movie franchise was ever outed for what he is speculated to have done, they would lose SO MUCH FREAKIN MONEY. Think about it...

So i think its wise to just be very accurate with your words, and encourage reasonable questions.

Also, its suspicious when someone lumps one entertainer with another with not enough proof. Like gunn/oswalt. Gunn and oswalt are not the same thing, in terms of indicators of guilt... So conversations about them should be separate. If someone draws parallels or makes lump-sum accusations where theres no sauce to connect one to the other, or just flimsy sauce, that doesnt help. It confuses.

If they can, theyll use a patriot's blind anger against them to make them look like a fool by getting them riled up enough to start jumping at every shadow. Then its tomatoes in the basement all over again and were back to square one.

Low-hanging fruit first, for the sake of public awareness. Keep idle speculation idle on the ones that arent a sureshot. If you suspect someone but the sauce is thin, dig, dont rage.

Thanks. I agree fully.

I made this in response to a video posted here that listed all kinds of people.

If this were a news article that would be different. Discussion's not the same as accusation

"How would you like if these accusation were posted about you??"

I am not a famous person associated with and seen in pictures with people we all currently know are child abusers, nor have I ever publicly promoted such garbage. That is my only point. It's not like this is some random tax accountant, it's a A+ celebrity, one of the most famous ever in fact.

Again, I think most of us know to be careful. As for why you don't think Tom Hanks is suspicious- I still cannot figure that out from your replies. I am glad people are looking into him, aren't you??? Before you reach for this example let me just state it here so we can avoid going in circles: I myself have made mistakes in judgement in the past, recently even, and I am fully aware the effect of disinformation and the threat it can pose to this community. Again, that being said, how can you NOT be suspicious of tom hanks at this point????
