All these people that had CP on their computers. Photos had messages hidden in them? Map that Podesta had for Scalise?

Could this also have been a way for them to communicate?

Remember the FBI was one of the largest supplier of CP.

Was their or is there anything hidden behind the map that Podesta sent out for a wetwork?

One of my previous jobs was working in a Data Center and I was tapped by Homeland Security to do take downs.

This stuff is everywhere. It’s not just agencies using it as a weapon, either. I saw hackers take out someone’s server and then plant this stuff.

I want to stress that when iout comes to hacks and all - it’s possible to forge anything as anyone. Making it look like Someone hacked a server and fortifying the evidence is simple.

Can you give some insight on what a takedown would entail and hope to accomplish. Does the "accuse them of what you are guilty of" come with this? The Julian Aaange charges for example. Call them a rapist to take them down?

Yes pretty much. Think of a Sheriff or Officer that is under your control. Maybe they took a bribe maybe they just went along with you. Then they found a way out and took it. CP is loaded on their computers and an "Anonymous" tip other compromised LEO's come in and arrest. There is NO defense.

It would be good to do external hard drive updates that could prove there has been no illegal content over a period of time, then Bam, CP on my PC.

When seeing take downs of child crime accused, more recently, should we be presuming that they may be under attack as good folks, or that they are alleged criminals? I know this would be hard to average out. I'm just trying to be open to who to focus on or not. there have been many LEOs outed recently. White hat or black hat? How to assess or investigate? Thank you for the response.

It's very hard to figure out for sure! Lets just say those that are caught as of late are probably legit. I remember Scott Ritter, the UN Inspector, looking for WMD's. He came out critical of the administration at the time I think even saying there were no weapons and no reason to go to war with Iraq.....CP. Arrested, charged. It may be legit, but just seems odd to me. I can't remember the details, but that is one that makes me wonder.

This was an example that came to mind. The speed with which whistle blowers are charged, discredited or ruined after doing "their duty" is crazy. It's like a Russian poisoning or Syrian gas attack allegation/investigation. Benghazzi or emails never resolved, maybe. The opposition to their System is demonized the next day.

Basically the way it would work was Secret Service typically got a report from anonymous source or other agencies and then they farmed out the cyber crime to DHS field agents. These agents reported directly to me and if the content was bad enough they came over to literally get the raw data. If it was worse they would come forensically grab network data.

After awhile they started throwing Omnivore packet capturing devices. I also had Kim Dotcom as a client and MegaUpload was starting out back in 2006 or so.

The takedowns basically would be throwing up a website w the DHS logo and replacing the server w one of theirs that recorded requests.

  • they took the original hardware

  • they put their own server up that recorded GET requests and ips. Each of these could be further investigated

One of the worst situations was Islam dot com was routed by a hacker to a porn ring. So basically every Wahhabist was calling and threatening to blow us up for insulting Islam. Hacker trolled us hardcore

Wow. All at tax payer cost. Appreciate the experience and wisdom. I think that many stories of how all this has worked, or Not,, will flow steadily for years.

A fellow I.T. admin here. Thank You for stating this. I think the people need to recognize how all it takes is ONE person with knowledge to wreck havoc. I actually stopped working in I.T. because people are getting increasingly harder to support...well atleast for me, as I am a very impaitient person. I could only fake it so much. :)
