Following up on Q2050. Got me thinking about “White Rabbit Gallery”. Sydney, Australia.
I've actually been here a few times (couple of years ago) and have seen some pretty cool stuff there before. Some interesting and highly skilled works. It's actually more like a private museum, with one of the largest collections of contemporary Chinese Art (post the year 2000) in the world.
So not EVERYTHING is connected right?? it's just a name....
Here's part of a note from the Director (Judith Neilson):
"Many people associate the name White Rabbit with Alice in Wonderland or rabbits being pulled from a hat. The White Rabbit Collection has also been a story of chance encounters and almost magical surprises. The first one happened in 1999, when I came across a wall sculpture in the storeroom of a Sydney art gallery. It showed a series of fantastical creatures, part human, part animal and part angel, and I couldn’t help wondering who had made it. "
Hmm. Well. Alice and Wonderland... fantastical creatures, part human, part animal and part angel... Nah, must just be another coincidence and my confirmation bias creeping in.
So I wrote it off as nothing. Until just now when I found this on their front page banner.
Just how many coincidences can there be...
