How did you start to "get" programming?

You're missing SICP https://mitpress.mit.edu/sites/default/files/sicp/full-text/book/book.html, it's useful and not just a meme. Just start reading it and post back here when you run into problems. If you don't like the style of that, also consider https://htdp.org

Feature request:

There is a tripcode.xml for every board, which is an RSS feed and gets all posts that used a tripcode, and possibly BO/BV posts.

Anyway, it would be great if the posts included in there w/ a tripcode would also include the username that was used. Right now it's tripcode only, which gets confusing.

For example when one tripcode is used for notables, and the username is notables, the RSS feed should return maybe:

[username] ([tripcode]) as the author, and not just [tripcode]. This may be trivial to implement.

Feature request:

Improved moderation - for delete all posts made by this IP, maybe ask for confirmation when this includes threads (including a list of these threads), because deleting these as well may affect tons of other users.

Maybe either delete these threads as well yes/no

Or even a thread selection.

Not that important, but would be very nice to have.

Bug report:

IMPORTANT

It seems 8kun.top embeds an upload timestamp into .PNG files, while calculating the server filename (sha-256) before that.

When uploading a .PNG, then downloading it, and uploading that .PNG again, this will then result in another sha-256 hash rinse and repeat.

This is bad for various reasons.

The same .PNG will use multiple filenames

Browser caching doesn't work for multiple uploads anymore.

and you can't be sure that it's the same .PNG anymore, because you get a different hash and you will never get the hash of the one who originally uploaded the file, unless you get it somewhere outside of 8kun.

I attached a binary view of PNGs to this post.

8kun doesn't do that for other files. I checked .JPGs as well as .MP4s. As far as I know it's .PNGs only.

>Is it really intended to be that way?

Believe that is what CM said back when he was still here.

Had asked about that and another item that was odd about the same time.

Will probably have to search for it or perhaps one of the site admins know.

BUGFIX / Mod-tools

When deleting a post from a thread, I'm getting a "Page Not Found" error message afterwards instead of getting returned to the thread.
