I've thought for a while now it was Mattis, and other Military Officials.

If you look at Trumps videos going all the way back to the 80s he has always had pretty much the same view on things as he does now.

My theory is that these true patriots were watching their beloved country being torn apart, and had gathered intel on the cabal. They decided to take a chance by approaching DJT. They did this because of his consistent views that aligned with theirs, and his previous interest in running for the Presidency.

Just my theory, but it lines up better than anything else I can come up with.
