There was still a lot of pushback against the hippies then, luckily, in retrospect.
Hippies were like the betas of today, IMO. They felt superior because of some college education and their vocabulary, so they trashed regular hard working Americans and soldiers.
A lot of boomers worked construction,etc. part time, like Trump, and hated the fucking hippies.
Trump, to me, is the smart guy regular folks wanted to see who didn't take the hippies shit and could trash hippies better than the hippies trashed them.
A lot of boomers have been waiting 50 years for this payback. Not all boomers were hippies (most not, I'sd say), but I think younger generations may conflate the two.
