Who is this moron woman talking on the podcast now? What was SpaceX doing for the first 6 years of existence? Hm, maybe designing its first rockets and stuff?!?

BTW what they're not mentioning is that there's another rocket company, Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos. Maybe Bezos gave rocket tech. to NK. After all, Trump is complaining about Amazon being able to ship at too cheap rates, he's not complaining anything about Tesla.

No, they just suck. They don't know what they are talking about. PA is good at modding an 8chan board. He has no special digging results and this format with 2 or 3 random people is not a great format for digging.

Ouch now PA wants to give some wrong information about EMP's. No, EMP is ElectroMagnetic Pulse not ElectroMotive Pulse. OMG they know nothing they sound so bad.

To dox myself I am an electrical engineer. To understand this stuff, learn some of that material. As others have said, the amount of energy required for most imagined EMP missions would be vastly beyond anything that's going to happen. Spherically propagating electromagnetic energy dissapates as 1/r^2 and the amount of energy required to do anything from space to equipment on the ground is just inconceivable.

It could be used for warfare in space, get your satellite close to someone else's satellite and zap it.

>>31247 OK I am reading the Wikipedia page on "Starfish Prime" and it says:

"Starfish Prime caused an electromagnetic pulse (EMP), which was far larger than expected, so much larger that it drove much of the instrumentation off scale, causing great difficulty in getting accurate measurements."

It drove some needles to the right or pegged them. It didn't fry the equipment. The EMP horror scenario isn't that the internet has a glitch, but that all our electronics are destroyed. We might get the first but the second isn't going to happen.

I don't know if that's feasible, and if I did, I couldn't talk about it. How would you contain such a plasma accurately enough to form a lens that focuses as you want? The total-energy argument is still on, you could still only get a big effect on a very small area, if you could focus it like that.

You can also affect a small area with various kinds of bombs we all know about.

Well OK we'll have to agree to disagree, because a nonexistent study doesn't overcome the basic physics we've known for about 150 years.
