You are either doing this because you really believe you are the good guys, and have no idea what your supervisors are, or you are trapped into working against your elected government by blackmail, coersion of some kind, or simply for the money.

This is being done by your bosses to stop participants, witnesses and victims from testifying against them.

Sooner or later your turn to be eliminated will come up. They are going to kill you and everyyone else important to you. It helps inspire fear and continuation of your helping them.

If you turn yourself in, you may get some form of clemency. no one wants to punish people who reformed and confessed. Look at the reconsilliation of Apartheid in South Africa. Its your best hope, especially if you can show you did some sabotage and obstruction to the cabal.
