NK officials cross over to SK for talks

SEOUL) — Officials from North Korean and South Korea have begun long-anticipated talks centered around clearing the way for a North Korean delegation to participate in next month’s Winter Olympics.

Five representatives from the highest levels of both governments — including South Korean Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon and the North Korean chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country, Ri Son-gwon — kicked off by meeting with a symbolic crossing by the northern delegation into the South-controlled building called House of Peace.

Neither president is in attendance. But the South’s leader, President Moon Jae-in, will be watching the talks on CCTV live with audio; his counterpart, Kim Jong Un, can only listen and not watch.

Iranian oil tanker burns for third day as winds, high waves lash rescuers.

BEIJING

Lashing winds, high waves and toxic gases are hindering dozens of rescue boats struggling to locate missing sailors from a stricken oil tanker in the East China Sea and to extinguish a fire that has burned for the past three days on the ship.

The poor conditions, with strong winds, rain and waves as high as 3 metres (10 feet), frustrated efforts to tame the fire and search for the 31 remaining tanker crew members, the Ministry of Transport said in a statement on Tuesday.

The flames were forcing the South Korean Coast Guard's search and rescue team to stay as far as 3 miles (4.8 km) away from the tanker, two South Korean officials told Reuters.

Throwing this out there for your thoughts.

So if George Soros is at Camp David, spilling the beans, turning over his illicit wealth, could he also be making a deal?

Could he even be Godfather III? Wanting to be freed from the Rothschilds clutched and save his family?

During World War II, the Japanese built underground tunnel and bunker systems in and on Mount Suribachi. In February 1945, United States Marines invaded the island and initiated a major battle. For the United States, Iwo Jima was an important strategic point between the United States and mainland Japan, a status that resulted in severe fighting that took the lives of nearly 7,000 Americans and 20,000 Japanese. Photographer Joe Rosenthal took his famous picture, Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima during this battle.

BUT…..

History has not been kind to Army Pfc. George Burns or Marine Sgt. Louis Burmeister.

Both military photographers were on Mount Suribachi on Feb. 23, 1945, when six U.S. warriors raised the Stars and Stripes to alert the world that the bloody battle of Iwo Jima was all but won. And both claimed they took their own versions of the iconic shot that won Associated Press photographer Joe Rosenthal a Pulitzer Prize.
