Hebrew קין) Kain, Qayin or Kayin. Son of Adam and Eve. The name Kahyin literally means, “to possess.” Cain, like all esoteric symbols, carries different meanings.

קין (Kuf, Iod, Nun-Sophit) means ‘smith’, as in metal-smith, or more precisely as in blade-smith, a required skill (or kenning = knowing) of Alchemy (the melting of metals). Thus the name (Cain) in the Book of Genesis is a descriptive appellation to Alchemists.
