Interesting thing occurred when I watched the movie last year. I read about it before I watched. I enjoyed the story. The interesting part was as I watched the movie I remembered dreams I had as a kid. The movie used a tar-like liquid substance to represent the "language" the Aliens used. As a child had dreams of this exact type substance everywhere. Constantly changing and very intimidating. Needless to say as a kid these dreams were a bit uncomfortable and borderline nightmare. For whatever reason I still remember the "feeling" of these dreams. I was around the age of 6 to 10 years old. I have many interesting and powerful things happen during this time in my life that I still remember the "feelings" quite vividly today. I have not had dreams like this since that time.
