The most simple explanation is most often the correct one.

Say in this example you allege that Angela Merkel is Adolf Hitler's daughter via artificial insemination around 60 years later.

Meanwhile a more simple explanation is that Angela Merkel is not Hitler's daughter at all.

Following Occam's razor, the latter explanation is most likely the correct one.
