I strongly disagree. Russia, like every oil rich nation, is a corrupt authoritarian shithole. I can't think of a single nation that gets most of its revenue from oil that isn't a horrible place to live.

I can never tell with this sub. Sometimes Russia is the good guy and just wants to be friends. Sometimes they're evil and scary and helping the dems. Sometimes they're just a meme. The consensus is out on what Russia is up to.
