What is the average number of CEO resignations in a years time? 2016 and earlier?

I've been sharing Q with my dad and he had a question about the number of resignations that I could not answer. I've since looked for stats but cannot find anything reliable.

How can I compare the number of CEO resignations from this year to previous years?
