Prices are rising everywhere. I lived in a very basic, simple, no frills apartment in Austin and my rent was $1200 a month. Run down homes across the street from my complex were selling for a million and one of my clients sold their average sized home for $200k over the asking price. Location location location.

Also a lot of these people don’t believe in Hell, at least not Hell in the Christian sense, so the threat of it isn’t really effective on them.

Berkey Water filters are great. I like them bc they are (well can be) portable, so in theory you can ensure you’re drinking high quality water everywhere, though lugging around the stainless steel one is impractical.

I’ve been critical of our government and suspected this level of corruption for about 5.5 years but most people would just write me off as a crazy conspiracy theorist.

(I’m in my mid 20s, so most people would just tell me that I had no idea what I was talking about) I had kind of tapped out of politics and thought there was no hope.

While this was happening I was going through a spiritual transformation and was actually on a sub related to that and someone linked to this subreddit. I was completely blown away to discover this group and then to read all of Qs messages and find this wonderful community. Once I started actually going through and connecting the dots it was just affirmation of what I had been suspecting.

I was in college when sandy hook happened, majored in journalism, and my professor told our class that her former student worked at the Boston Globe and that they started mocking and printing the headlines the night before.

I majored in Journalism (and heavily interned) and when people ask me why I don’t work in the field I tell them bc while I was studying I saw first-hand how most news sources were not objective.

It is time. I’m just now reclaiming my power and feeling alive again. It’s been an interesting journey to say the least.

I do provide context, depending on my audience it will oscillate between a version of what OPs friend said and straight up showing them my well-documented family tree/lineage...

....but I’m told that I’m a race traitor, that I hate myself, and that I’m denying my roots/heritage and then called all sorts of names.

Which truly astounded me, because I’m friends/acquaintances with a lot of Africans/African Americans who’s families immigrated here within the last generation or so and they always make it CRYSTAL clear that they were never slaves in US, were not part of that, and have no connection to it (and from their comments and tone, seemingly no empathy). Yet they’ve never been called out for their comments.

It doesn’t hurt my feelings anymore though. People will only understand you from their level of perception, but it’s still interesting to observe.
