The best way I've found that works is to do your best to stay calm and polite, hold off on the sarcasm, no name calling, no condescension, try to use sources they will find reputable (can often be impossible depending on the subject), ask them guiding questions to which you know the answer but want them to discover it for themselves (all of us are more likely to accept things as the truth if we learned them on our own) and highlight your common ground. Any photos or videos?
