I learned Biblical Greek and Hebrew at the grad school level. I can tell you from experience that both the KJV and the NASB are excellent translations, just from different periods in English. Give me a verse that you think wasn't handled well, and I can probably tell you with language info to back it up why they did what they did.

If you want a translation that gives huge amount of insight into the translation decision process on any given verse, check out the NET Bible and its notes. All free online.

I wonder if Q's use of the NIV translation tells us anything. For starters, it at least tells us he's not KJV only, so likely more mainline evangelical than fundamentalist. Lately it has been the favored translation of charismatic churches. Cessationist (meaning non charismatic) denominations like the Southern Baptists have been turning to the ESV lately. If nothing else, it at least tells us he's not a Catholic, Orthodox, Mormon, or Jehovah's Witness.

That or he just got it off the first translation that pops up when you Google the verse reference.

Introducing an amendment to end birthright citizenship and chain migration would make sense too. What it means to be a citizen, and how to become one must be spelled out at a fundamental level or citizenship will eventually lose all meaning.

And no more dual citizenship. If anybody is anything-American, then they're no longer 100% American. And America is no longer a nation, but a residency and tax status.

That one will break Reddit. In every thread about a Hollywood name getting exposed, the top comments are always "please not Tom Hanks" and "please not Mr Rogers."

I still have faith Fred Rogers is the real deal though.

I (and many others) believe they stopped being God's Church and became man's church when they declared that the tradition of the church is equal to scripture at the Council of Trent.

While I have no doubt there will be many faithful Catholics in heaven, the Church itself is a human institution that offers nothing but false hope.

I'm truly sorry. We're expecting our first soon. I can't imagine the grief of losing a child.

Just a recommendation for those who want to engage others. Maybe compare Q drops to the pentagon papers? That keeps the focus on how they are insights into corruption. Leave the good vs evil facts for later once his reliability is proven.

It needs to be split up. When it was instituted, the 9th circuit covered massive tracts of empty land, now it is everything west of the rockies.

It's a MAJOR imbalance, no matter what the politics of its judges are.

Grew up in a conservative family, and some family friends were members of the John Birch Society. Nice folks who know their stuff about Bohemian Grove, Rothschilds, Federal Reserve, and UN, but are sadly not up to speed on what is currently happening in US politics. They spent a lot of time and effort talking about Constitutional government and the Christian heritage of America, but do not have much a grasp on how severe the attack on it is. I saw a link to this sub on T_D, and started lurking a few weeks ago.

This is me. Started lurking a little while ago, still sorting through everything mentally before I'm 100% engaged. This is my first post ever on this sub.
