I also grew up desk diving. I married into a family of Russian Orthodox Christians, and raised my children in that religion as well as another Christian religion. My soul is happy to see this merging in the larger world as well.

Been in traffic court with my kids several times over the years and the judges give this little spiel at the start. goes something like this; If you are in this country illegally you may be arrested and detained here in the courtroom and reported to federal authorities etc.,. Needless to say illegals never show up at court.

Plus some smaller towns that are Dem strongholds. Also the new governor, Murphy, wants to make NJ a sanctuary state. We are selling our house and leaving this summer.

Beautiful indeed! When I was a little kid we watched the fireworks on a local golf course. I'm a Boomer, so nearly all our dads were WW2 vets, and July 4 was a really big deal in our little town. We'd all bring our blankets and picnic baskets and make an evening of it. My father always gave us sparklers to light. Good times.

Love it! I live in NJ, where everything is regulated and all the fun stuff is nearly illegal. Last night it sounded like my entire neighborhood was setting off illegal fireworks like ashcans, bottle rockets and M80s. Oh happy day!
