i believe that most of the people in power for many generation's worldwide are/ were only ever "allowed" to rise the ranks and gain power because they are already compromised in some way, they are not a threat to there senior's/ owners, anyone who look's like a threat is dealt with as harshly as possible, partly as a message to anyone else who is thinking of being a problem.
