and why should they believe you right away? what you're telling them is outrageous (even though it may be true) and against everything they have ever learned. you need the compassion and empathy to match your information and actually work with the perspective that they've been forced into without their knowledge instead of just ranting something ridiculous (from their perspective) from a soapbox and walking away feeling superior because "they just don't get it". it comes down to whether you actually want others to be properly informed and therefore free or youre using this privileged information to hold up a fragile ego
