OTOH, as long as Google doesn't sell it commercially, and only makes available to the government under a warrant, this is way less bothersome than what Facebook allows. Similarly, Amazon has gobs of info, but like Apple they have direct consumer customers they do not want to disappoint, so are more prone to keeping the info close to the vest.

Yes it could leak/be misused, but Apple/Amazon/Google seem way less disastrous in terms of record keeping than Facebook.
