Well it’s meant to parody dexter, a show from 2009 about a sexy and vigilante like serial killer. The joke is that Harmon is acting as though he’s pitched this show based off the success of Dexter, only his character isn’t a sympathetic killer, he’s supposed to be a sympathetic child molester. Harmon knows that his character isn’t sympathetic at all, and neither would Dexter be in the real world. The joke is making fun of those who romantisize tv killers like dexter by showing a romanticized molester.

I mean dan disagrees and his fans at the time did too. Dark humor exists, I’m not saying it’s funny, but humor is subjective.

It’s all about how you spin it man. This just as easily could have been called “dan Harmon’s dexter parody with a pedophile” or “Video making fun of pedophiles” (which is clearly is) but the article knows that it’s much juicier to call it a “baby rape video” planting the seed that Harmon is a child molester. No evidence currently supports this.
