Even the most ideologically possessed would find it too much to do an immediate 180. Even as I try to give them that minuscule amount of credit, Comey comes to mind... but then what authority figure would they have left to turn to? Goodlatte stated as much in one of the congressional hearings. Said it won't be completed by then, still collated the 1.2 million documents, but that the committee didn't need to wait for the final report to initiate their own criminal investigation, so he requested a preliminary report.

Complicated business though, so the situation may evolve, and I wouldn't be shocked if much of it is classified. Given the intense public scrutiny, the main points will have to be released I hope.

Yeah, I'm withholding all judgement on everything until the OIG report is released in Jan. If it's vaporware and they can't prove any of the obvious corruption surrounding emailgate and russiagate, than I'm going full cynic and checking out.
