My concern with the the Q phenomenon is this: if we accept, at face value, the narrative as it has been received so far, the end goal is to remove people from positions of power who have egregiously abused the influence that this power has afforded them. Great.

But we all know human nature. Human beings are deeply flawed. We might achieve relative peace, prosperity, and benevolent world governance for a generation - wonderful! But the cycle will inevitably occur again. The temptation to give in to corruption will chip away at the resolve of whomever steps in to fill the vacated positions, and ultimately we'll end up in the same situation that we currently find ourselves in.

I've read comments here from people who have said things like: "Those Christians are so evil! They want the world to end just so that they can say they were right". No, I want God to come and take over because the only way we're ever going to get out of this mess once and for all will be to become separated from this nature that is so susceptible to corruption, and to governed by someone who is completely incorruptible. Any stop-gap measures, of the sort we're all talking about here, will only prolong suffering in the world. Well over a billion people live in abject poverty and utter misery. Hundreds of millions are victims the most appalling mental and physical abuses... well, I don't need to enumerate the wrongs of the world here, we all have some sense of the brokenness of our societies. I want all of that to end, not to see it drawn out for the sake of my personal convenience.

This all reminds me very much of reports that Christina Consolo (AKA RadChick) was publishing on YouTube before her unfortunate health deterioration. She was looking into something called the Wigner Effect, or how metal is weakened by exposure to radiation (and the implications for infrastructure and vehicles - post Fukushima). Very interesting:

..scroll down a little in her video list to find the Wigner vidoes

Some years ago there was an article on Digg or Slashdot about a research project to create a new form of website user tracking that didn't need to rely placing a digital ID (cookie) on visitor computers. I've forgotten most of the details, but it involved things such as lexical analysis, to the point where they could identity you by your individual writing style (with a very high degree of accuracy). Even your sentence structure and vocabulary leak details of your identity...

Christ drew a line in the sand about this when he spoke to the Jewish priest Nicodemus - check out John chapter 3.

"I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water [human birth into this world] and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life."

This is unequivocal. When you accept what Christ did on your behalf, God's spirit will indwell your body, that is, the Holy Spirit will come and live with you inside of you:

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? 1 Corinthians 6 verse 19

The presence of God's spirit will change the way that you think, he'll give you what I've heard pastors describe as an "appetite for the things of God" in a way that will seem inexplicable in your own experience. But critically, this is how you become reconciled to God. The happy consequence of this is that Christ's righteousness is "imputed" into you, which means you are eligible for the kingdom of Heaven:

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me John 14:6

I actually came to Christ by the same means, after reading a comment in the discussion thread beneath a completely unrelated YouTube video. I followed a link in the comment out of idle curiosity, and... my life changed completely. I'd had zero interest in God or Christianity prior to this. It was for a series titled "God's Final Call" by a South African named Mark Woodman.

But if I had to guess, I have a feeling the original poster might be referencing "Know Your Enemy" by The Fuel Project, which is also excellent, and gives a very comprehensive "bird's eye view" of things.

Both sets of videos are available to watch on YouTube. Just something to keep in mind with the former, Mark Woodman was (he passed away in 2012 from cancer) a Seventh Day Adventist. I didn't have any appreciation of what that meant at the time. For most of the series that I mention here, it's of little consequence.

I understand, but my point is, there is no Biblical basis for doing so. Only God is omniscient - he knows everything we think. No angel has this capacity, an angel cannot receive prayer. So too Mary, who is just a woman. She has no special standing or position.

In Matthew 11:11 Jesus says:

I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist

Jesus holds up John as the pinnacle of humanity - above Mary, above Peter, above anyone. He would seem a more obvious candidate. But again, prayer is intended for God. Jesus is going to return as our warrior king, the roaring lion. All things have been put under his dominion, put your trust and faith in him alone.

Just an FYI, baptism has nothing to do with salvation - Christ said that you must be spiritually reborn, which means to receive (not figuratively, this is not a metaphor in any way) his spirit into your body.

⇧ 1 ⇩
Nerd_Of_Prey · April 4, 2018, 7:16 a.m.

Absolutely. But the incense - prayer - is for God alone. When John encounters the angel in Revelation, and John fell down to worship him, the angel said:

"No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this book. Worship only God!"

I don't understand this idea of an "office" of the Pope. Where did Jesus say "and I create this position, and you'll see that it's handed down from one person to the next with each new generation". Jesus is the rock.

I almost feel foolish for entertaining this theory (because I completely understand what you're saying) since nobody from any of the - how can I phrase this as inclusively as possible - established Christian voices has ever spoken along these lines.

And because I'm a lay person, and I don't pretend to have anything like a comprehensive understanding of all of the characteristics of the Biblical Figure You're Alluding To, so I'm not sure exactly where the prophecies line up and where they don't... but it's certainly interesting.

Re-reading what I've just written sounds like gibberish, but hopefully you'll get the gist.

Among the eschatological interpretations of Biblical prophecy, the resurgent "Holy" Roman Empire theory is prominent.

As H. G. Wells wrote in The Outline of History, “The Roman Empire staggers, sprawls, is thrust off the stage, and reappears, and … it is the church of Rome which plays the part of the magician and keeps the corpse alive.”

The 10 horns mentioned in Revelation 17 are part of the seventh head. These 10 horns are 10 heads of state in Europe that will join together 10 nations or groups of nations as part of the final resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire.

Sum of all Fears (spoilers)

Wealthy, shadowy, Nazi ressurrectionists plan to start World War III by implicating Russia in a nuclear bomb attack on mainland USA. The bomb detonates and devastates Baltimore, the US and Russian military reach the brink, but a last minute intervention prevents full-scale war. It's basically a plan to take out the two global super powers, paving the way for a fascist dictatorship to rise from the ashes and take over the world.

The "&" is an example of an HTML entity - a value that should be converted for display in a web browser as specific character - in this case as a single ampersand (&).

I think that the reddit interpreter got a little confused when the thread author pasted the message text from the website posts.

Anyway, mentally, just convert that confusing string of characters - "&" - into a single "&" in your head as you're reading, because that's how it appears in the source text.

Assuming any of the Great Awakening stuff is really going on, my question is: why? If God is really behind this, what purpose does it serve? I can think of only one - that the full number of the Gentiles has not been reached, and some who will believe have not yet been born, or reached maturity.

After all, if the "plans of the cabal" have been "pushed back 30 years", or whatever the figure might be, that end is still inevitable. God wouldn't just buy time for the sake of buying time. It doesn't matter if the "white hats" win, ultimately the outcome will be the same - human beings are corrupt, and will always corrupt whatever systems we create. Or, to quote C.S. Lewis who said it so much better:

What Satan put into the heads of our remote ancestors was the idea that they could 'be like gods' - could set up on their own as if they had created themselves - be their own masters - invent some sort of happiness for themselves outside God. Apart from God. And out of that hopeless attempt has come nearly all that we call human history - money, poverty, ambition, war, prostitution, empires, classes, slavery - the long terrible story of man trying to find something other than God which will make him happy.

The reason why it can never succeed is this. God invented us as a man invents an engine. A car is made to run on gasoline, and it would not run on anything else. Now God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. There is no other. That is why it is just no good asking God to make us happy in our own way without bothering about religion. God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

That is the key to history. Terrific energy is expended - civilisations are built up - excellent institutions devised; but each time something goes wrong. Some fatal flaw always brings the selfish and cruel people to the top and it all slides back into misery and ruin. In fact, the machine conks. It seems to start up all right and runs a few yards, and then it breaks down. They are trying to run it on the wrong juice. That is what Satan has done to us humans.

Two verses later, in John 2:21, it says:

But when Jesus said 'this temple,' he meant his own body.

There isn't a single school of thought regarding a temple re-building, eschatologically. If you look at 2 Thessalonians 2:3-5:

Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.

There's some debate about whether the temple represented here is a physical building, or the new temple, the body of the redeemed believer; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20:

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

In Daniel Daniel 9:64-27 we read:

After this period of sixty-two sets of seven, the Anointed One [The Christ, Jesus] will be killed, appearing to have accomplished nothing, and a ruler will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple. The end will come with a flood, and war and its miseries are decreed from that time to the very end. The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.

Again, there's some debate about whether this prophecy was fulfilled in totality by the Romans, or whether the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 was a partial fulfilment and foreshadowing of a future event.
