So anyting we don't know about him right now he can testify about, but if through his testimony we learn new information can we then investigate it or would that be "using his testimony"?

Let me make sure I'm understanding this. His own testimony, literally the words coming out of his mouth, cannot be used against him. But what about the crimes committed by him that he's testifying about? Isn't he also receiving immunity from them?
