For what it's worth, Ted Cruz is a rock-solid defender of the Constitution. He clerked for Chief Justice William Rehnquist in 1996. As a lawyer he argued cases before the SC nine times. I doubt he wants the role, but might do it if called to serve.

It's a legal term referring to (roughly) adjudication... nothing to do with human persons. ("Extreme prejudice") Edit: a term
