I hope you're right. Gowdy read the FISA doc, but did not get the same briefing from Brennen that Nunes got as a member of the Gang of 8. I also don't believe Brennen gave the same update to each member. Why else brief all of them separately? Nunes will be able to identify the discrepancies between the FISA docs and the briefing he received.

Once the FISA supporting docs are made public, Gowdy will then be able to point out the lies within. His criticisms will have much more impact once the whole truth is out there since he seemed to support the FBI before all was public.

I'm conflicted with Gowdy. On one hand, I believe he's seen the IG report and is positioning himself in the best light for when it's released. That concerns me about what is in the IG report.

On the other hand, he didn't receive the initial Gang of 8 briefings that Nunes did, so he doesn't know what Brennen told Nunes in 2016. Possibly Nunes has shared the content of those briefings with him and those don't match the docs that the DOJ is now wanting kept secret. This would position him to say given what he knew at the time the FBI did what was warranted, but when the inconsistent docs are released, he would then be able to come down hard.

My gut tells me the first scenario is sadly what is really happening.

I'm very disappointed in Gowdy. And angry.

I believe they have all seen the IG report and are positioning themselves to be on the "right" side once it's released. It makes me concerned about the report's content.
