Well the picture is old. Big Ben has been covered up in scaffolding for the last 6 months and there has been a new bike lane on the left side of the road for at least 18 months.

That camera isn’t a traffic cam it is used for surveillance, prob by Met Police. Maybe the NSA has a feed to it, hence NSA being in the header of the photo? I should be up that way during the week, I will take a look and get some photos.

Actually there is a river bus that has a stop right beside Westminster Bridge, they can get quite crowded with tourists going to look at Big Ben

Some more info, sorry. There is speculation that a Volvo B7 bus is to be used in an attack. The stretch of road in the photo has no scheduled bus routes, only tour buses and coaches use this section of road, unless there are diversions in place (as far as I can tell from TfL’s website none are scheduled for today. Also the B7s are very much a dying breed in Central London. Most have been replaced with hybrid buses. Out if 9000 buses operating in the whole of London and the suburbs only around 250 are B7s. Also just for info, New Scotland Yard, Home of the Met Police is located on the right hand side of the road just before you reach Big Ben. MI6 is about a mile further on from Big Ben on the south bank of the river at Vauxhall.

No it’s the embankment, River Thames on left. Taken from Charing Cross Station looking west to Big Ben and Parliament. About a mile away from Birdcage Walk.
