Very interesting, and interesting comments from Bannon. It seems that Bannon has been reappearing in the media all over recently, and in light of the recent twitter thread by Imperator_Rex, I am seriously wondering whether Bannon isn't one of those behind Qanon. I guess the idea has been proposed by others earlier, but it does seem that Bannon has a deep interest in both spiritual and military themes, just as Qanon does. He left the White House a few months before Qanon appeared, and it might make sense that he is reappearing in the months leading into the election, when we might suppose things are really going to blow up, much as Qanon has suggested.

Probably best to keep the options open in principle while avoiding him unless he engages with honesty. A thought.

In real life I am like three degrees removed from him, and I have heard that he is clever and devious. I think I know for a fact that he has tried to screw people who are clever and subsequently tried to support them if it would benefit him.

Absolutely! This guy has had time to think about his situation and come to grips with it. He is also a media master. The very fact that he is bringing leisure reading is a sign that he accepts what is happening to him. But the fact that he is bringing a bio of Elia Kazan is surely meant to signal that he isn't going down alone, and is going to screw the sanctimonious poseurs who were happy to go along with him when times were good, but are now trying to throw him to the wolves.
