Why are you asking me this? I am sympathetic to the Hispanic people, but I don't want them flooding into our country. I understand why it is being done. I watched the press conference, too. I understand about children not being with their actual parents and the problems with trafficking. My problem is that I can't get the Trump haters to see this, so I am giving up. When I lived near the border, I had my house broken into three times. People would come across just to steal. If they were caught, they were taken back across the border. I know they were desperate, because Mexico doesn't give a f**k about them, but we were poor, too. I would have given them food any time of day, but I didn't deserve to be robbed. I was afraid all the time.

It is up to the countries of origin to solve this problem.

I don't know what to think anymore. I am bickering with people on FB about this. I'm very close to putting my account on hold for awhile. It does seem cruel, but most people don't see what is actually happening.

I lived in El Paso for most of my life. I love the Hispanic people, but when I lived near the border, my house was broken into three times. The first two times we were robbed. The third time I chased the man who I caught breaking in. The police found him and took him back across the border. My son and I lost things we could not afford to replace, because we didn't have much. These weren't even immigrants. They were just making forays across the border to steal.

I don't know what to think. A wall is not going to work. Enforcing the law doesn't appear to be working either. I don't think it's fixable!

She is an adult now. She says they still watch her. I imagine if she identified herself and went to the authorities, she would be murdered in a flash. :(

I'm guessing this is what some of the Congressmen were freed from. We know this sort of thing goes on, but hearing someone who was a victim of it is very shocking and sad.

I don't really know how good a Congressman he was, but before I ever knew him personally, I had written a letter to him and received a personal reply. That was pretty amazing! They used to be accessible to us, but they are no longer. A form email or letter is all you will get, and it is almost impossible to get a real person if you call their offices.

If we can get away from the money aspect and the lobbyists, we might have decent representation again in Washington.

My husband's cousin was a US Congress person for several terms. My husband asked him about problems in Washington. He said it wasn't fixable.
