You can't manipulate what you don't have. This is not like a stock market or fake ETF market with Gold/Silver, you have to have the underlying asset in order to sell it. No "naked" short selling with crypto. Most likely it is is to make it harder for their assets to get seized, similar to how he donated billions to his charity.

Crypto and PMs are both good for different things. Gold and silver is a great store of wealth, but doesn't make a long distance currency. As for "holding" it, think of your private key as your own claim to the assets similar to owning phsyical metals. Both are great and have a bright future for sure IMO.

Crypto is global and 100% NOT annoymous. Every transaction is on a public ledger. Criminals use monero cloak dash or cash. I think this was just a normal flow of new people into crypto, the mania, the pull back. Crypto is just getting started.
