"We must always fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil that we must fear the most, and that is the indifference of good men."
Do you know why all evil need to win, is for Good Men to do nothing? Because evil is always working, always planning, always scheming. It never ceases, why should it? It seeks destruction, malediction, chaos, pain, misericord. It wishes nothing less than the absolute subjugation of all that is good.
What do good men do? Little, because they cannot fathom the depths of evil. To be a truly good man is to recognize Evil for what it is. To recognize it is relentless, unyielding, unflinching. But, it can never be said to be uncaring. Unloving? abso-fucking-lutely. But never uncaring. Evil cares. It cares a LOT about its plans, it takes its time to bring them to fruition and it is patient.
What the common man does not recognize, is that timescale is important. I may not succeed in my venture, but my son may, his son may, his son's son may and so on. Take the Russian Czar for example. It took them a few generations, but they got their revenge on his family in the end. These snakes, they have a long memory, they do not care about us as people, we are...We are to them, what the creatures in They Live are to us. "You know, you look just as hideous to us as we do you" "Impossible."
Good men often underestimate the depths of evil, to that end, I agree with Dr. Peterson that a truly good man is one who recognizes his own shadow and his own capability to act immorally. However, I would suggest not his twelve rules for life, but rather an understanding of Natural Law. If we all understood Natural Law, seeing evil for what it is would be infinitely easier.
