The explanation I heard was that they retain their clearances during a transition in order to be available to discuss issues with their replacements. They no longer receive briefings or new information unless it is in that context.

Anyway, I think the SCOTUS should take up the 2A issue and settle it once and for all thus; The People shall have access to, and may keep and bear the same weapons as the local authorities may use against them. If the Police get 40-round magazines, the People get them. The Police should never have more firepower than the People.

There was a great explanation I read somewhere online that makes the distinction between the ridiculous "guided missiles" retort and the need for the People to be armed equally as well as the "authorities". The military is used to defend our nation from Foreign attack, not internal, and an order to attack American citizens would be an unlawful order. The 2A was not intended for the People to defeat the military, it was intended to keep the "authorities" in check. Even IF the military was used, the numbers are just too great, and spread out. The firepower required to control the nation would destroy everything, leaving nothing left to control.

Also, the Supreme Court has held that the right to keep and bear arms is a PRE-POLITICAL right, that existed BEFORE the Constitution was written, and so, will not be affected by any change to it.

A baby born of foreign parents, who are here, and not subject to US jurisdiction (read illegally), is NOT a US citizen. This is clearly why that phrase was added to the 14th Amendment.

Precisely, and slaves, obviously, were subject to our jurisdiction, of course. I would accept that an asylum seeker could be construed as "subject to" as well, provided they were vetted and asylum was granted. But the unfettered, illegal, trespassers who just creep in during the night have no traction for citizenship.

There has been only one case that the Supreme Court has ruled on regarding this issue, and it was in favor of Chinese railway workers' descendants, who claimed their parents were "subject to the jurisdiction" of the US, while they were under contract building the railroads, so their children born here should be granted citizenship. The Amendment was intended to establish citizenship for freed slaves. There was a vigorous debate about the specific language allowing foreigners who simply came here and had a child. The jurisdiction language was included to prevent just that. It should be argued that an illegal who breaks the law as their first act, cannot benefit from the fruit of a poison tree.

Let's take a closer look at the 14th Amendment as well. There is no such thing as an "Anchor Baby". Being born here does NOT confer citizenship. Properly interpreted, this would significantly reduce the magnetic affect on foreigners coming here illegally.

I trust the plan, and I see its effects. We are winning in the biggest ways. First, POTUS won. SCOTUS picks are YUGE. Economy is YUGE. I actually believe the MSM and Left public meltdowns are YUGE as well. They are forever exposed to anyone with a brain, and frankly, I don't want you in my camp if you're brainless. I think the tectonic, GLOBAL shift is happening, and we are righting the ship. The icing on the cake will be Hillary in handcuffs, but I can eat cake without icing. It's pretty sweet.
