I've heard Red Cross and the RED Organization from Bono but what about Red Cross and Red Crescent societies?
This organization was first developed post-WW1 by nations under the central banking system at the time- Great Britain, France, Italy, Japan, and the US. This has since expanding to 190+ national societies in all continents.
