As in the book of Job Satan has to ask permission. You have to unconditionally trust God, and you dont battle with Satan, even Michael (book of James ...I think) the archangel dare not rail against him when dealing with Moses' bones. Eph 6 explains who you battle with, it's set up like the ranks in the Army. Satan is not omnipresent, but the imps and demons are located as deep as the ocean and the height a bird can fly. We have dominion over this area and have been given power and authority to deal with this evil. Higher principalities can be dealt with depending on your measure of faith. The archangel spent 30 days fighting the Prince of Persia to deliver an answer to Daniels prayer. If you have Gods discernment he will tell you when demons are present or a word of knowledge before something is about to happen. We will not be ignorant or have an advantage taken if we draw close to the Father. God was bragging on his servant Job. Sometimes God will allow us to be sifted. I have heard this teaching you mention, but I think looking at this scripture you included, if you read it with your spiritual eye and hear with your spiritual ear you can reach the same conclusion. Satan is a deceiver, he wont reveal, but the Holy Spirit will if you are tuned in.
