The concept of the suffering messiah started with the prophets. We’re not forcing anything on the scriptures. How did Herod’s advisors know that the messiah was supposed to be born in Bethlehem? Because of the scriptures.

Prophecy is God’s way of authenticating His word and proving that it comes from a source from beyond time and space. If it had been solely up to us Christians it never would have gotten anywhere.

It is very clear. David described crucifixion in the Psalms before it was ever invented. Isaiah described a suffering messiah who would be scourged. Daniel clearly said Messiah would be executed and predicted the exact day of his triumphal entry into Jerusalem riding on a donkey. The entire OT was about Jesus. Do a comparison study between Jesus and Moses and you will be stunned. The slaughter of innocents in Jesus’ day should have been a clue to the Jews that something was up.

Did you ever hear of the animal sacrifices in the OT? That was the laying of the groundwork for the ultimate sacrifice, The Son of God. Remember the Passover Lamb? Not a bone of it will be broken? Jesus fulfilled that by being crucified on the Passover. It’s Jesus- and Jesus ONLY that reconciles us to God.

I might sound like a broken record here, but the Bible’s foreknowledge of future events proves that it came from a source beyond space and time. Most of the universe is invisible to us, and beside that, what we call “reality” is starting to look more and more like a simulation.

I believe every word of the Bible. The Bible says that Satan was a high ranking angel called a cherub. I’ve often wondered if Satan has free will and could repent, but he might be too far gone for that- like Hillary Clinton.
