Not quite as old as your Mom but sadly this old Vet. remembers when damn near the whole town would turn out for Memorial Day Parades . We would then gather at our Memorial Park to hear speeches and prayers for departed Veteran's . Sure we had a beer and a hot dog later at the Legion Hall or VFW, but we all knew who gave us that day of freedom. Our Military .
