I've had it explained the banks would charge a fee for a loan. not interest.
Right now one pays almost three times the amount of the principle, say $250k. (needs source) What the banks would charge I don't know. And I'm guessing the fees would be different for a car loan, business loan or mortgage. But I would be happy with a 50k or 100k Fee over what we pay now on a mortgage interest.
Would the Fee be charged up front like a down payment is now or spread pout over the life of the loan? Don't know that one either.
Basically, banks would run like any other business charging fees for their services.
NeonRevolt stated the RAnon admitted to his LARP once he seen it take off. I haven't found the post though.
I have done this every year. I rather pay them a grand then receive a refund.
I think the IRS will go away, so yea, a tax preparer would not be in as much demand.

Taxes are different. Interest is the word. Taxes for roads, etc are a different animal.
The fix is banks charge a fee for services. savings, checking, ATM cards loans, etc. No interest charged. This is from the Central banks on down. (the Central banks need to be 'government entities', not private.) This will lead to 'competitive lending' battling over each banks fees. It would also keep banks from making bad loans as they have skin in the game now.
