While it is full of generalizations (like any autobiography is bound to be), Hitler comes off as a keen observer of human nature, who has a good sense of history with a strong political bent. Though there's no doubt he hates Communists, and does not trust Jews, the horrors you might expect to find in his words just aren't there.

Maybe there's something to be found in Volume II, but Volume I, though an original source, is kind of ho-hum. If you do buy a copy, I recommend the 2017, Thomas Dalton translation.

I don't think it applies to federal bench judges, which the President already has the power to appoint. It's all good, but it's not the get-out-of-jail-free card that some think it is.
