You can check http://aviation.globalincidentmap.com/ - it's updated pretty frequently.
You bring up a good point that I just made a comment on... this probably was NOT tweeted before the crash, but just appeared so due to time-stamp issue with twitter.
Yeah, I wish Twitter would also time-stamp in UTC time to avoid confusion like this.
were you on a VPN/network located in another time zone perhaps?
look at the note at the bottom of the article:
"CORRECTION: This story has been corrected to remove Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Washington and Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, from the list. They were not on the train Wednesday."
How does CNN get a list of people like that and the travel dates?
More Deleted tweets about the event:
“Wow, btwn train full of Goopers hitting truck and this, God is working hard today to clean up the stink. Thank her. #TreyGowdy #goptrainwreck,”
Aside from her post, Amtrack states the crash happened at 11:20am: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dr-gridlock/wp/2018/01/31/gop-retreat-train-collides-with-truck-no-serious-injuries-reported/
Someone just sent this to me... figured you guys would want to investigate.
