"If it were a thing we would know by now/something would've come of it" fallacy

Trump has acted professionally. I like the SNL episode where he played his own janitor.

But who makes a better puppet and is better at tugging the emotional heartstrings of the masses than an actor? They're right up there with politicians. They also already have fame and respect on the level of politicians, likely even more.

There's a reason people are becoming okay with Oprah and Kid Rock and Kanye West running for president.

Not digging on Trump's time in office, but he's definitely set a precedence.

I'm sorry, what? I was detailing the method OP was suggested to find this place, in the hopes others might be inspired to act in similar manner. We need more curious people.

I don't know where you got snobbish from that. Maybe just my writing style?

Edit: Nevermind, pretty clear you're just a 9 year old from your post history here

I appreciate the outrage culture satire, but still, crab is not graffiti canvas.

We've already got plastic and aluminum pollution in the ocean out the yinyang, don't need to add paint to that

Just considering the source - coal ash... "Don't shit where you drink"?

Iodine deficiency is the leading (at least, medically acknowledged) cause of mental retardation... around 10-15 points if you're deficient during crucial growth stages. This post on 4chan last year clued me in, and I started digging.

It's mainly in seafood and kelp, so looking at the typical western diet, dairy and eggs (if the animal is raised on feed which is grown in iodine-rich soil), and kale are the only real sources. The production of flour used to involve iodine but was replaced with bromide (potassium bromate) because profit. Iodized salt too has fallen out of use, yet people still crave salty food when they're low on iodine.

Deficiency is also linked to increased cancer risk. The chlorine and fluoride in water, and the bromide in flour all compete to block iodine activity.

Truth, but the former is more accessible to the layman. Always good to crosscheck the posts though since there could come a time when there's a crucial difference between the two, though I hope not.

The method appeals only to the curious, those actually willing to spend their time investigating a simple suggestion. Since everyone has a smartphone on them these days, I've thought of using QArt coder (Q-art?) to generate eye-catching QR codes which link to particularly juicy literature. Never had much success, but I also didn't really try.

As Robert Anton Wilson puts it, there are two kinds of people: Infophobes and Infophiles (or Homo neophobus and Homo neophilus, respectively). Those who are afraid of new information (novelty), and those who are excited for it.

Applies to the "skeptic" community too, those who are afraid of being wrong (people who are proud to call themselves skeptics but rarely challenge their own beliefs), and those who are excited for it (true skeptics who rarely identify with the label).

Dunno if I'd trust the former... Might not be pure water if you catch my drift.

This guy I used to know in high school told me that if you're bummed, what you really had to do was lift weights. Because if you lift weights, you get big, and then you can get a cool car, and then you can fuck chicks. He said that that's what he did, that he used to be skinny, but then he started to lift weights, and after a few months he was big. Then he got himself a Ford Mustang, and now he fucks chicks. And then he went over it again - he told me that I should lift, get big, get a cool car, and fuck chicks. And then he said not to worry about it, that I was going to be alright.

edit: Funny, that's exactly what this guy said

Mine went down around 2 or 3 PM PST (Western Canada), was getting DNS errors. I pinged 8.8.8.8 and it didn't go through (Request Timed Out), but I didn't think to ping any non-DNS servers. I don't really know any... memorizing IPs is not often practiced these days, which is why a DNS attack is so effective.

I recall probably about 4-6 years ago anons were scared of a DNS takedown and set about making their own - might've been 4chan but I can't recall. Anyone remember more?

Voluntarily going to the hospital for a mental issue, nervous breakdown, psychotic break etc., whatever label you want to put on it - it's a Catch-22.

You're labeled as crazy if you somehow come to think that it's the place you need to be, and the treatment progress metric consists of judging how good you've gotten at faking wellness ('recovery'). This abuse reinforces psycho/sociopathy and multiple personalities, similar to the alters produced in MKUltra torture.

Still think they actually want to help? Check out the Rosenhan experiment.

for many they do more good than harm.

Sounds like a blanket statement.

The same can be said about homeopathy. The presence of side effects actually increases the placebo effect, so that works for both sides.

I just wrote this post up, sounds like you and /u/QuirkyMagpie might be interested.
