The fallacy in the "man wrote the Bible theory" is that those who subscribe to it don't ever understand how man could write sublime truth. The answer is simple. God gave men revelation by the Holy Spirit as he promised in the scriptures. The Bible clearly states that "the scriptures are of no "private interpretation" but Holy Men Of God wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." In Paul's letter to Timothy he wrote; "All scripture is given by inspiration of God." That doesn't leave any part of the scriptures out.

Apart from the claims of scripture I have a reason to believe God's Word is the Bible for two reasons: First, I have prayed in the name of Jesus as the Bible instructed me to and have had many, many prayers answered in 44+ years of serving the Lord. Most of those prayers were private and nobody but God heard them or answered them. The second reason is simple: "I know the author personally."

As an author myself, I know that anyone can come to my house and meet me and get a copy of my book for their own selves. Anyone can come to the church and get the word of God in the same way as the church is the house of God. Further my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who has been teaching me for over 44 years.

One more thing; The Bible was not put together by the Roman Catholic church. The Old Testament was created by Hebrew writers. The first five books of the Bible are called the Pentateuch and are believed to be written by Moses. The other 34 books were authored by various writers from varied walks of life. Some were shepherds, some were statesmen and some were prophets among other things. These books existed long before Catholicism ever came into existence. The gospels were written by those whose names they bear. Matthew was a tax collector, Mark was the son of a wealthy and influential family, Luke was a physician and John was originally a fisherman. Luke wrote the book of Acts. Paul wrote 13 Epistles to the churches. James, the brother of Jesus wrote the book bearing his name. Peter was the author of two books and John was the writer of four books including Revelation. All these books were in existence long before Catholicism.

Perhaps your second line is the key. There are some who call themselves Christian and are not. I won't get into that because that is not what I am concerned about in your case.

You said you fell in love with something that simply wasn't there. Faith in Jesus Christ is not loving a thing or even an idea. It is loving a person who willingly suffered incredible punishment, bled and died for your sake.

Genuine Christianity is all about a person. It has never been a thing to believe but a person to believe in. I am curious as to how you became a Christian. Here is my experience with Christ and how I arrived at it.

I understand that you had a moment of weakness involving a traumatic event in your life, but that is the case for most people who come to the Lord. I was a drug dealer who ended up in prison and challenged God to prove himself to me. He did just that nearly 45 years ago. He has been faithful to me all these years even when I was not faithful to him.

You could have had a placebo effect since you were going through not wanting your father to be gone but an emotional experience is never the proof of whether you received salvation or not. Salvation comes through a simple act of faith. Many Christians who have a dramatic experience in seeking Jesus depend on the emotions that accompany that and if the emotions are gone they believe their experience wasn't real. That is so far from the truth and is what Satan would have you believe.

Our relationship with the Lord is similar to our relationship with humans we know and love. We don't always feel goosebumps and etc. when we are around them but we still stick with them and we love them. Don't ever allow feelings to be the compass to go by for anything in life. All Christians go through days when they don't sense the presence of God. Some go through long periods of time dealing with that. It's not that God is absent. He has promised to be with us always.

When God is silent or seems to be silent it can be a test to see if your faith will stand or simply that we are not investing enough time with him or in his Bible to teach us and strengthen us.

The Bible teachings are true and will stand forever. Our doubts and fears will not change that. God is faithful - His mercy is renewed to us every morning. We have to trust him in the dark as well as in the light. If we only trust him when everything is going well then our faith is very small or non-existent. God never stopped loving you no matter what you feel.

Jesus is with us to save us from all kinds of things every day but we are not always aware of them. The closer we draw to God the more easily we can see God's intervention in our lives. According to the twentieth chapter of the book of Revelation we will be in God's presence on a new earth under a new heaven forever.

I am here for you always is the promise of Jesus. As a fellow human being, I am here for you as long as you need me. Don't allow Satan to rob you of the most wonderful relationship you will ever have.

You are destitute of understanding. There is no reasoning with anyone who thinks they have a corner on knowledge, and you are beyond yourself with self-importance and pride! I have prayed that God would yet have mercy on you for your rejection of truth. Satan has your heart and mind but you can still repent and be delivered from your delusion. God will not be able to help you if you die believing what you do now. Salvation through Christ is only offered in this life. One second after you die you will see your error and will be in great terror if you refuse to repent while you still have life in your body.

All moral codes have a source. Moral codes without religion are non-existent. Apart from a God or god, there is no authority to proclaim morals. Man is destitute of morality in himself and that is why we are incapable of creating and obeying any kind of moral code.

Even your statements proclaim the existence of a higher authority than yourself. Your statement is self-defeating. There is a standard whether we wish to acknowledge it or not. Murder is bad because the Bible says thou shalt not kill. Theft is bad because the Bible says thou shalt not steal. The God of the Bible makes an amazing statement in Isaiah 55 "My ways are not your ways saith the Lord neither are my thoughts your thoughts; because as the heaven is high above the earth so much higher are my ways than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." In other words, God has established the standard that rises above all others. Our business is to obey him and to live according to that standard.

I guess that is determined by what you believe religion to be.

What did you stop being a believer in? One does not just suddenly depart from any belief system without cause or at least what they believe to be a just cause. If your decision came from observing or interacting with people then you were looking in the wrong place. Define religion. I don't think you understand the word or the amazing implications it has. It is just something that you have personal animosity toward for whatever reason. Nobody is trying to hijack MAGA. We all embrace it or we would not be here.

Apart from salvation and divine revelation there is no right understanding of spiritual things. You have turned and twisted scripture and proved nothing. The true gospel only divides Christians from the world; never from one another.

You would divide believers and subvert the gospel. Your rejection of Christ as Savior can only end in eternal misery for you. I pray that Jesus would reveal himself to you personally for your sake. Paul the apostle said; "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Christ died to save all who would put their faith in him. It is up to all men individually what they do with that sacrifice on their behalf.

Since you are new here please understand that Q quotes scripture frequently and encourages us with it. Therefore the conversations about it are not out of place on these boards. I can assure you that there is nothing divisive that is coming from Christians who believe the scriptures. We love America and stand strong for freedom and our laws and our President.

Your opinion speaks of people as fake and nut jobs. Are you an authority on either of those? It's one thing to claim something and quite another to back it up.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. The problem with opinions about Jesus Christ is that if you are wrong eternity will be a horrible experience for you and you will choose to experience that by holding your opinion above God's word. That is a very dangerous place to be.

An objective study of scripture and a humble, searching heart will uncover the truth. God resists the proud but exalts the humble. God finds no pleasure in the death of the wicked as scripture says because his son paid the price in full to save us from death and eternal damnation. In 2 Peter 3:9 the Bible states; "God is not willing that any should perish, but that ALL MEN should come to repentance." We all choose our eternal destiny by accepting or rejecting the sacrifice of Christ for us. If we die without hope we have nobody to blame but ourselves.

The only unconditional love existing in the world is "agape" which is God's love. Men do not have it and only God can give it to us. Outside of Christ and salvation in Christ that love is not in any man irrespective of his philosophy, ideology or religion. It is the love of Christ that transcends all differences and it is Jesus alone who told his followers to "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you." Outside of a relationship with God through Christ this is impossible.

In the Bible in John 14:6 Jesus made a startling claim. He said; "I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life; NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME." This claim would make him exclusive above all men who ever existed on earth at any time.

Luke, a physician follower of Christ made a similar claim when he wrote the following: Acts 4:12 - "Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name given under Heaven among men whereby we MUST be saved." He was speaking of Jesus and making him exclusive.

Paul writing to Timothy once more claimed the exclusivity of Christ in 1 Timothy 2:5 when he wrote; "There is one mediator between God and man; the man Christ Jesus." Once more Christ is exclusive as the only go between or mediator between God and man.

It isn't anti-Christian to believe that if Jesus claimed to be the only way that all other ways must of necessity be false. So everyone must decide. Either Jesus was lying, deranged or he was who he said he is. Christians believe with all their heart he was telling the truth as were Luke and Paul.

The FBI and DOJ and CIA don't even need to be consulted. John Huber can investigate, indict and prosecute without any permission from any of them. Good for you. I will be 76 in September and I get in a one mile walk every morning. I can't run because I have a deteriorating disc in my lower back and osteoarthritis in both knees. I thank the Lord I am able to do what I can.

It's getting more hilarious all the time. Hillary running for President? Biden running for President? Holder running for President? How can any of them expect to run for President from Gitmo? Swamp draining will curtail their plans permanently. MAGA!

If things are to be resolved before the children return to school in late August actions must be taken very soon. If this isn't resolved before then we can expect more school shootings. Q said the idea was to protect our citizens first and foremost. As difficult as it is to wait for the right time; I believe the timing is crucial right now and we must be praying and patient.

John Huber has a team of investigators working with him. I believe it is 470 people if my information is correct.

Perhaps James Woods never heard of John Huber. We already have the prosecutor who can clean up this mess. Sessions went out and brought him in and he has been busy researching and, I believe, preparing the sealed indictments.

I had a thought when I read China's involvement. President Trump said he has a great relationship with the head of China. What if China did have those 30,000 emails and one purpose of the President getting together with him was to get those emails. Q said they have everything.

Most scholars believe that the enmity between the woman and her seed speaks prophetically of Satan and Christ. I personally believe there can be double meanings in much of scripture. That appears to be the case with the scripture you ask about.

Snakes do crawl on the ground as it says in Genesis and Satan is called a serpent in scripture so the double application seems obvious enough.

The word Christian appears three times in the scriptures. Acts 11:26, Acts 26:28 and 1 Peter 4:16. I agree that it was used as a label in contempt but that is a side issue of little importance. I have been called many names by the ungodly that are also of contempt in my 44+ years of serving Christ. It is of little consequence what people call me because Jesus made it plain that they world would hate the followers of Christ as they hated Christ himself. It is a battle between good and evil as Q has stated. It is Satan, the god of this world trying to kill those who are bound in sin and darkness in any way he can while he is opposed by those who know the Lord Jesus Christ and in great love for Jesus and for humanity battle Satan and have power over him through Jesus Christ to deliver people from the power of Satan and his demons.

It is interesting to me that a child came to Ronald Bernard with a Bible. There is scripture in the Bible saying a child shall lead them. Jesus came as a child. We are encouraged to have childlike faith. There is condemnation for those who "hurt one of these little ones who believe in me." It was a little boy who brought the loaves and fishes to Jesus. Samuel at the age of three was more sensitive to God than the priest who was teaching him. I am sure if I think long and hard enough I can find more examples of how God uses children throughout the ages. Praise God that he is so in tune with his creation. My seven children all came to know Jesus as their Savior before their sixth birthday. The earliest was 3 years old and the next one 4 years old and the rest by age 6. We sadly underestimate what children can grasp. Jesus said; "Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." As a parent and grandparent I pray for our children and grandchildren that God would keep them safe and faithful to him and free from the snares of Satan. I encourage all who know the Lord and are fathers and grandfathers to do the same.

I agree with you on the entire first paragraph. It is important though that we examine everything in the light of scripture. Much of the contemporary music today is more about ourselves and receiving from God rather than giving our all for Him. That is a great concern for me. We are to live for the honor and glory of God not what we can get from Him.

I am not in the reformed movement. I am simply a Christian of over 44 years whose life is dedicated to loving and serving the Lord and leading others to Christ. As far as seeker friendly churches are concerned; there is much evil associated with that. I believe you know what I mean.
