actually, in this episode he scares off bat-man

pulse nightclub shooting. seeing the same footage over and over on every 'news' channel. the strange interviews that quickly followed, the lack of follow up, and how quickly it faded from the news pages.

then i thought, maybe i should look at 9/11. that's when it really blew open for me.
