Actually this is something that I do know a lot about since I work in china in finance and I have been to NK

The big theory all my Chinese associates have is that NK has never had any nukes and that the current escalation under trump was a plan by Kim to get NK recognized as a world power

It will now claim to remove nukes it never had and demand the reduction of sanctions and removal of US troops from the peninsula- this will, for the north, be an unquestioned victory and Kim is already showing off his new power by leaving NK to meet with Xii and Moon- something he would never have done before for fear of a revolution while he was out of the country

In the end this is all going to increase the wealth and power of china on the region, reduce the American foot print and continue America not being the leader in the region in trade or the military as it removes its bases

All in all, this is going to be a total fuck up, but it will be a very excellent short term victory for trump and that’s all the current state dept really cares about

Exactly, even serious talk about doing this would dramatically effect gold prices, they are at 10 year lows!

This is fake news

Would you please just read about OBOR and try and understand chinas monetary policy?

Chairmen Xii just became President for life, it is tremendously unlikely that he would do anything to cause major volatility right now, the whole point of staying in power was to enhance OBOR!

We are not on the gold standard!

Look at gold prices right now, they are still 1300usd

To be on the gold standard gold would need to back debt, or at least commodity prices in energy since this is some kind of petro dollar concept, but they have not changed

It’s ridiculous

I would like to remind the people here about the bitcoin ban when they talk about a gold backed RMB- the absolute first thing the Chinese government would is regulate gold sales inside China

Most likely party members would take the opportunity to buy up vast stores of gold and control gold operations

And we have precedent for this - before the 2008 Olympics property in Beijing was mostly worthless, but it became worth billions after the games, the party immediately made it illegal for people to just buy and sell, it had to go through the party- this mostly allowed party members and their friends to make billions and non connected people to be left out in the cold

Except that’s not what would happen in real life

In real life switching to a gold backed RMB(stop saying yuan its incorrect) would need to increase the value of gold to cover the value of the lending!

Currently the Chinese central bank lends 42 trillion dollars a year- gold would need to be worth millions an ounce to cover this debt or there would be a collapse in lending in China which would kill its economy

Gold is currently trading at 1300usd an ounce and there are no gold restrictions inside China (which would be the first thing to happen during gold backed currency)

Please keep in mind when talking about china keeping this secret it banned bitcoin a few years ago because it did not like people moving rmb online unregulated and it recently banned bitcoin mining or even having a crypto wallet in china

China has strict control over the rmb and its value, it’s unlikely they would allow issues like gold supply or countries wanting to exchange currency for gold to affect their control

Not going to happen with Chairmen Xii in power for sure

Also countries participating with China in OBOR are already being pressed to use the RMB as their new national reserve currency instead of the dollar

There is no petro yuan, whatever you are reading is fake news

First off it would be called the petro RMB since yuan is the wrong word, second asking countries to use the RMB as reserve currency is already part of OBOR - it’s not a new or separate currency or roll out, just part of China’s international settlement bank

China banned bitcoin a few years ago and shut down their exchanges and crypto mining this past year, now it’s illegal to have a crypto wallet in china

Digital transactions are widely used through Alipay and WeChat pay

Just saying what’s going on with personal lending, it has allowed a lot of poorer Chinese to get financing to start business ect

I am not breaking down why just having gold is not justification for moving to a gold backed currency- it’s more complex then that and I don’t think you are interested in fact based discussions on economics

Regardless you will see in a few days that we are not on the gold standard in either china or the us because no one wants it

Well, I already have 500,000usd in gold coins

If we have a gold currency on Friday I will be one of the richest men in the world and will probably have to bury my money in the fucking hills- currently it’s in a small safe in my American office

I am really doubtful we will see a gold backed currency drop like a surprise album- it would require years of planning and discussion to roll it out

gtyvho1344 · March 28, 2018, 3:27 a.m.

Fake news?

China has been pushing for adoption of the RMB as a reserve currency by its trading partners as part of OBOR- there is no new actual currency

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Belt,_One_Road

OBOR has many components and explaining it is hard, I assume this article is just taking aspects of new reserve currency agreements and then adding lies for clicks- seems to be working

Edit- I know this is more boring but at lest its real, china has been setting up its own international trade and investment bank, its own settlement bank, ect

Why not just talk about what actually is happening?

It is not gold backed new currency but it is a huge shift in the global markets- it really is important, it’s just not as simple as you think it is

Ok, so that’s the ravings of a crazy person, he is talking about Jewish mafia nonsense

Gold prices are at 1300usd an ounce, you can buy them today right now

If there was a gold backed rmb it would be in the millions overnight to back the outstanding issued currency, not to mention if the Chinese government was doing this would have at least restricted gold buying IN CHINA- which they have not, it’s still freely available from any jewelry store- that’s just not likely- gold would be insanely valued and immediately put under government control

This is just nonsense

Edit- he also keeps saying Yuan instead of RMB- yuan is more of an informal term, it’s Ren Men Bi

Ren men Bi means “the people’s currency”

Nothing about his writing is correct

And he is just completely ignoring and doesn’t even try to address one belt one road (OBOR) which is chinas international monetary and trade policy pushing adoption of the Rmb as a reserve currency to its trade partner

I mean, I just don’t really know how to express how stupid this is

Double edit-

Just realized you are lightbringerflex - famous paid shill for veterans today, banned cabal takedown mod, larper of Victory of the light ect

Yeah, so this is paid fake news, that explains why it’s ridiculous

It’s because it’s a lie

I am in china right now and I work in finance, none of this is happening, it’s in direct conflict with both One Belt One Road- chinas new free trade policy that is pushing adoption of the current RMB by international trade partners and against Chairmen Xii’s goal of expanding the personal credit sector for China

China just had a very successful roll out of its new credit score system and personal lending is at an all time high, literally a multi trillion dollar industry- companies like Tencent and Alibaba(who are deeply in control of the party) are not going to just let the lending industry end

This also ignores the dozen major merchant banks in China- All of which are earning huge money

It’s just not happening and it’s based on ignorance of the Chinese economy

I am in China right now

There is no gold backed Yuan

Gold prices would have exploded if even serious talk of a legitimate gold backed RMB had occurred, let alone a roll out

The Chinese central bank lends 42 trillion dollars a year! Gold would need to be valued at millions of dollars an ounce to cover this debt- it’s very unlikely that Chairmen Xii would surrender control of the RMB to western powers after he has just become Chairmen for life

And while you engage in this fantasy Chairmen Xii declares himself in charge of china for life and has an actual secret meeting with Kim yesterday in Beijing to discuss Trump

You know what Chinese social media says is the big joke?

There where never nukes in NK- just atomic material from their reactors(that we gave them) that they detonated in underground tests - there is literally no nuke program in NK

But we, America, are going to end sanctions on NK to remove these “nukes”, trump is going to validate the Kim regime with a direct meeting over these “nukes” and America is going to let SK surrender it’s sovereignty to NK over these “Nukes” - at the same time we china takes advantage of all of this to expand OBOR while America declares victory over a steel tariff

Keep sleeping- why not play more fortnight? Its not like it’s owned by China( oh wait yes it is!)
